::: Why study at the CCP? :::
The Centre for Creative Photography was founded in 1997 by Gavin Blake and since then it has risen to become South Australia's largest and ONLY Privately Accredited Photographic School and exists harmoniously with other such Tertiary organizations. This is largely due to the firm belief in the fabric of their mission statement.
"The Centre for Creative Photography is a private educational institution dedicated to promoting the highest level of photographic art practice. It is committed to helping people explore their professional options and to mastering their craft, while developing their creative talents in search of their career." Of course, the dedication of their teaching and support staff in the pursuit of this belief makes it a reality.
Gavin Blake, himself an internationally known practising artist and educator for 25 years has brought the CCP's unique mix of practical, theory and history into the classroom and studio, making for a potent blend of flexible learning available to anyone with the motivation to explore this cutting edge medium of expression for artistic expression or for commercial gain.
All of the lecturing staff at the CCP are recognised, successful professionals who are currently practising and teaching in their areas of expertise. This ensures that all students learning at the Centre will receive the most up to date information for their photographic education regardless of their area of interest.
The CCP offers the Certificate IV in Photoimaging, the Diploma in Photoimaging and an exciting VET program for secondary students. Most importantly however, it still maintains an educational flexibility which enables the student to complete their chosen subjects at their own pace i.e. either full-time or part-time. Because all of the courses are Nationally Accredited they are therefore AUSTUDY approved.
Current students will also enjoy the professionally maintained and professional equipment used in the studios and darkrooms when they are working and doubtless will appreciate the availability of extended after hours access to the facilities each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 10:00pm.
The administration team at the Centre looks for only appropriate work experience opportunities for their more advanced students so you can be assured that when a student is placed, they will be further challenged in a relevant area of interest for them.
The graduating students from the Centre can also look forward to further support upon completion of their studies because the Centre also functions as a photographic resource for the professional community - it offers darkroom and studio hire. What better way to run your business, than from an environment that you are already familiar with.
Perhaps you'd prefer to mount your first solo exhibition at The Light Gallery @ The Centre, which is entirely co-ordinated by CCP students, this presents yet another of the many tangible opportunities and facets available for those wishing to extend their career even further with the CCP.
If you consider that the tuition fee for all subjects includes:
