::: Ken Binns :::

Ken BinnsLecturer
Originally an Aircraft engineer, then (briefly) a Building Supervisor, Ken studied photography in the early '90s. Today Ken works mostly locally as a freelance Commercial Photographer. Most of his commercial photography clients come from his Multimedia and Internet Development business. He also works as both an Ophthalmic and Medical Photographer.

Ken's versatile qualifications include: Licensed Aircraft Mechanical Engineer, Building Supervisor Class IV, Advanced Diploma in Commercial Photography, Certificate IV in Multimedia and Licensed Motorcycle Instructor. He was awarded an ASM for service overseas during 1980s.

There is no one area of photography Ken favours over another, though he does enjoy a good landscape challenge when on holidays and has travelled often and extensively through Asia and the USA, usually indulging in his lifelong passion for motorcycling. His Holy Grail is Tasmania (which he never quite seems to get to).

Through his life his heroes and inspiration have been - Chuck Yaegher (aircraft), Barry Sheene (motorbikes), Frank Hurley (amazing Australian pioneer photographer), Lee Miller (one of the original surrealist photographers) and Jello Biafra (Social commentator and spoken word artist).

Ken's only photographic maxim is "Be brave!"

::: Matthew O'Keyes :::

Matt O'KeyesStudio Assistant
Matt started using a camera in high school and although he had no clue about technique or even how to use a camera his passion for photography took hold.

Over the last year he has formed a group with friends and fellow photographers called juxtaposition. The group acts as a forum and melting pot of ideas for those involved and the group has worked together on various projects and exhibitions. Their website can be viewed at juxtaposition.com.au.

Matt's choice of subject matter is varied. Recently, his interest has shifted towards exploring motion in photography and plans to focus his energy in the commercial arena as he continues to develop his portfolio. This also fits in well with Matt's time-lapse photography, which is run at The CCP as a workshop.

Matt continues to support many of the advanced studio classes while also assisting other professionals in the industry.

Matt's portfolio and website can be viewed at matthewokeyes.com.au.
