No. 138::: What's inside? :::

Behind this plain facade on Richmond Road is Adelaide's only nationally accredited private photography school.

The spaces within are versatile, well equipped and accessible to students for extended hours well beyond normal class time. The CCP has a gallery, large studios, two classrooms, a print preparation room with a photography library, two large and well equipped darkrooms (Colour and Black & White), a film processing room and a small kitchen in addition to administrative areas and a student lounge.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays the studios, classrooms (classes permitting!), film processing room and darkrooms are open for enrolled students from 9.00am till 10.00pm when we close. Students enrolled in Saturday classes also have Saturday access from 9.00am to 4.00pm and those enrolled in Monday night classes have Monday access from 4.00pm. Fridays are reserved for the exclusive use of VET students. Terms and conditions of darkroom & studio access.

::: Classrooms :::

The classrooms are versatile spaces with audiovisual equipment and projectors. The walls, as with much of the rest of the school are painted a mid-grey so as to be sympathetic should they be needed for any photographic sessions.

The studios are very adaptable large spaces. They house many flash heads, stands, tripods, soft boxes and backdrops, gobos, reflectors, diffusers, a rear projection screen, translucent recurve table and ancillary equipment such as large and medium format cameras for students to use. All the equipment is well maintained, and, when not in use by a class, is available for students to book and use independently to complete their assignments. Commercial studio hire is available in The Annexe.

::: The Light Gallery :::

The Light Gallery

The Light Gallery is an integral part of The Centre for Creative Photography's concept. It operates as a commercial gallery. Exhibitions change approximately every six weeks, enabling students and the public to view a range of photographic work exhibited within the local and interstate artistic arena. This provides for an invaluable experience for students to be involved with gallery practice and to view their own work in a professional context. This is through the biannual student exhibitions or as curated exhibitions. See the Gallery's page for more information.
